All trustees should be able to demonstrate basic qualities of commitment and integrity; the chair would benefit from having additional skills including leadership, communication skills and previous committee experience

Impartiality, fairness and the ability to respect confidences
In most circumstances it would also be desirable for the chair/vice-chair to have knowledge of the type of work undertaken by the School and a wider involvement with other sectors and networks
