All trustees should be able to demonstrate basic qualities of commitment and integrity; the chair would benefit from having additional skills including leadership, communication skills and previous committee experience

- In most circumstances it would also be desirable for the chair/vice-chair to have knowledge of the type of work undertaken by the School and a wider involvement with other sectors and networks
