THE ROLE
The Country Director will lead the operations and development of the RedR/BioForce Disaster Response Support Service (DRSS) training programme within Haiti in response to the earthquake of January 2010. You will establish effective relationships with the donor and NGO community and relevant government authorities in order to support the needs of the humanitarian response in the most effective way. PERSON SPECIFICATION
. Fluent French and English is essential
. Excellent leadership skills, visionary and envisioner, appropriate to a humanitarian agency, backed up by 5 years experience in an overseas, capital city- based programme director role
. Confident networker with an ability to read complex political situations
. Strong strategic management skills
. Strong representational skills including communication and negotiation skills.
. Strong experience and skills in people management and development together with proven ability in cross cultural management.
. Solid experience of donor relationship development and management, developing and writing proposals for funding and managing a multi-donor funded programme
. Good financial management experience and skills to include budget setting, budget monitoring and enforcement of financial controls
. Strong organisational and time management skills; firmness in implementing and managing programme and internal targets to deadline
. Flexibility, creativity and the ability to adapt to a changing and challenging environment
. Experience in capacity building
. Good computer literacy, with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
FURTHER INFORMATION
Location: Port-au-Prince, Haiti
Contract: Fixed terms for 12 months (possible extension)
Salary: £32,000 p/a (plus £2,200 hard to work allowance)
Start date: Immediate

The WorldWide Antimalarial Resistance Network (WWARN) is currently recruiting a Regional Scientific Director, East Africa who will be based at the KEMRI/Wellcome Trust Unit in Nairobi, Kenya. The post-holder will lead the WWARN East Africa Regional Centre and be the local contact for WWARN in the East African Region. S/he will oversee WWARN’s technical and scientific activities across the region and manage a small team that includes a Regional Liaison Scientist, a Statistician, Data Manager, and an Administrator.
